Can I get an electricity contract without a Swedish Personal Number?

To get an electricity contract in Sweden, you usually need a Swedish Personal Number ("personnummer"), but some companies may allow you to use a coordination number or passport number if you explain your situation to them. If you have a Swedish Personal Number, you're good to go and can sign up for the contract of your choice online (with BankID).

Check out our overview and comparison of some of the most popular electricity companies in Sweden.

If you don't have a personnummer yet, then our recommendation is to go through the list of electricity companies we list, find the best option for you, proceed to the electricity provider and ask them via chat if you can get your contract with any other personal verification option.
