How do I find an apartment to rent in Sweden?
Finding an apartment in Sweden can feel like a full-time job, especially in cities like Stockholm, Gothenburg or Malmö. Start by checking out property rental websites like Qasa, Samtrygg and Heimo, and don’t be shy about joining local Facebook groups (search for "Bostad + City"), or contacting local rental agencies. It's also good if you're ready to act fast—apartments can disappear in hours. As always though, be careful and be aware of scams.
Sublets are common if you need something temporary. Also, make sure you’re prepared with great references and proof of income; landlords, both private homeowners and larger housing associations, like to see that you’re a solid bet as a tenant. Both physical and digital viewings are common in Sweden, but if the landlord prefers a physical viewing, it's usually good to go for that option even if you prefer a digital one, to increase your chances of getting the place.
